How AI Assistants Recommend Turkish Software Companies (September 2026)
20 buyer questions, two assistants, 114 answers: an average of 41 distinct company names per question, 68% mentioned only once. We measured how fragmented AI answers are in Turkey's software market.

In short: when a buyer asks an AI assistant “which Turkish companies build enterprise RAG systems?”, they do not hear one name — across six answers they hear an average of 41 different company names. We put 20 buyer questions to ChatGPT and Gemini repeatedly and counted every company named in the resulting 114 answers. No brand owns this category. Method, numbers and limits are below; company names are deliberately not published.
Why we measured this
Buyers now ask assistants alongside search engines, and an assistant returns not a link but an answer full of names. Whether your name appears is measurable, but nobody had measured it for the Turkish market. We were already measuring our own visibility weekly; inside those same runs sat a picture of the whole market.
Method
- 20 unbranded buyer questions, such as “which companies in Turkey build AI agents?”, “can you recommend a mobile app development firm in Istanbul?” and “which Turkish software firms offer enterprise RAG?”. Questions containing a brand name were excluded.
- Two assistants: ChatGPT (gpt-5.6-sol) and Gemini 3.8 Flash. Each question was asked three times to each, so six answers per question.
- Search-on answers only — answers the model gives while consulting the web. The search-off mode is a separate study.
- Measured 5–14 September 2026. 114 answers and 1,176 company mentions in total.
Assistants do not give a shortlist
Across the 114 answers, each answer named an average of 10.3 companies. Ask one question six times and roughly 41 different names come back. The buyer receives not a recommendation but a pile — and the pile changes each time.
650 of those names are distinct. 443 of them, 68%, are mentioned exactly once. Even the most visible company appears in only 27% of answers, and the 30 most-mentioned companies account for just 23% of all mentions. The remaining 77% is a long tail.
Fragmentation is uneven
The real finding is in the distribution, not the average. In some questions one company shows up in nearly every answer; in others nobody holds. In 9 of the 20 questions the most visible name appears in at least five of six answers — that question has an incumbent answer. In 7 questions no name reaches even half.
| Question | Share of the most visible name | Distinct companies named |
|---|---|---|
| Which companies in Turkey build AI agents | 6/6 | 45 |
| Mobile app development firm in Istanbul | 6/6 | 23 |
| Trusted enterprise software firms in Turkey | 5/6 | 54 |
| Turkish software firms offering enterprise RAG | 5/6 | 46 |
| Turkish companies building SaaS platforms | 5/6 | 51 |
| Turkish firms doing enterprise LLM integration | 5/6 | 47 |
| Turkish companies building voice AI agents | 5/6 | 47 |
| AI governance and compliance consultancies in Turkey | 5/6 | 51 |
| Custom software development firms in Istanbul | 3/6 | 56 |
| Turkish agencies designing WCAG-compliant interfaces | 3/6 | 28 |
| Turkish firms building multi-agent AI systems | 3/6 | 49 |
| Which software company should I use for an MVP | 2/6 | 34 |
The lower half of that table marks where a company does not have to outspend incumbents to become visible. Accessibility, multi-agent systems and MVP work have no established answer yet.
Two ways to be visible
The two companies at the top of the ranking play completely differently. One appears in only 8 of the 20 questions but shows up in five or six of the six answers wherever it does — it holds a narrow field. The other appears in 13 questions but dominates none; it is a little bit visible everywhere. Both sit in the top two, but the impression differs: the buyer hears the first as “the firm for this” and the second as “an option”.
The two assistants disagree
Same questions, same days. ChatGPT's 76 answers named 437 distinct companies; Gemini's 38 named 273. Of each assistant's five most-mentioned companies, only two are shared. Their leanings differ too: Gemini favours large corporate and public-sector names, while ChatGPT surfaces niche AI providers. Which assistant a buyer uses changes the list they see.
What the assistants cite
The 114 answers drew 874 citations from 443 distinct sources. The single most-cited address is not any company's own site but a review directory: clutch.co, with 33 citations. Behind it come one company's own site (24), tr.linkedin.com (18), another company site (17) and turkiye.ai (16), followed by techbehemoths.com, ensun.io and webrazzi.com.
That does not mean directories dominate: on a rough classification, directories and review sites account for only 7.9% of all citations, with most going to company sites and a scattered tail. The accurate reading is narrower — one single directory is cited more often than any individual company's own site.
Why no company names
The party running this measurement is one of the parties measured. GG Tech is one of those 650 companies, appearing in 5.3% of answers — well behind the leaders. Ranking our competitors in a table we scored ourselves, using a question set we wrote, would say more about our position than about the question the report asks. So the published version names no company at all, ours included. There is no sponsored placement, paid ranking or favouritism.
Limits
- The question set is not a neutral market sample. The 20 questions follow GG Tech's own service areas (AI agents, RAG, beacon, accessibility, MVP). No conclusion such as “Turkey's most visible software company” can be drawn from this data; the correct reading is “how answers distribute when these 20 questions are asked”.
- The sample is small: six answers per question, three for two of them. Individual percentages are noisy — what carries meaning is the shape of the distribution, not the decimals.
- Company names were extracted from the answers automatically, and spelling variants may be counted separately. 650 is therefore an upper bound.
- Only search-on answers were counted. With search off, assistants cannot reliably name Turkish software companies at all; that is a separate study.
- Two assistants, two weeks: ChatGPT (gpt-5.6-sol) and Gemini 3.8 Flash, 5–14 September 2026. Results move as model versions change.
The next measurement
The same 20 questions keep running weekly. In three months we will publish the same cut again and look at what moved: whether more questions acquire an incumbent, whether the long tail shortens, and whether the two assistants converge.

AI agents and RAG systemsFrequently asked questions
- Is this the same as search engine ranking?
- No. A search engine ranks links; an assistant names companies inside an answer. A company can appear in an assistant's answer without ranking on Google's first page, and the reverse happens too. The two are measured separately.
- How do I find out whether my company appears in assistant answers?
- Write down the questions your buyers would ask, put each to more than one assistant several times, and count how often your name appears. Looking at a single answer misleads: the same question returns different names on different runs.
- Is the figure of 650 companies real?
- It is an upper bound. Because names are extracted automatically, different spellings of the same company may have been counted separately. The direction of the finding — that the market is highly fragmented — is unaffected by that uncertainty.
- Will you share which companies appeared?
- No. Because the party running the measurement is one of the parties measured, the published version names no company, including ours.
